Ingredients
4oz shredded suet
8oz self raising flour
water

Directions

add suet and flour together whilst dry.
add water gradually until the dumplings are the right consistenc (just moist enough to hold the dumplings together)
roll mixture into small balls (bear in mind the dumplings will expand whilst cooking)
drop the dumplings into the stew 20 mins before the stew is cooked.

TipDon't use too much water & handle the dough as little as possible......this should ensure nice light dumplings instead of heavy ones

Alternately you can place the dough balls on a baking tray and cook them seperately in the oven to get lovely crispy dumplings

Thanks Anne, I'll ask the wife if she fancies making some of those.  I'll get her to use your recipe, especially for the crispness, that's how I like em
