Strange development at the on line bookies, with the odds of Jermaine Beckford joining West Brom tumbling from 20/1 to around 2/1, Leeds' star striker has recently been removed from the transfer list so a switch would seem unlikely. Chairman Ken Bates has also said that a new contract offer would be offered to Beckford in the next 24 hours.


Well if i were Bates i'd offer him that contract before teatime today!

Looks to me as though Becks wants to go.  After all, if it really was about promotion, they'd just slot in a non-promotion get out clause.

I think he's agreed to go along with this farce to keep the fee up.  Good lad.
