I think what has been said is quite right.
The police were over zealous in their attempt to capture Osman and feelings were running high when they mistakenly thought that it was him leaving his home. I think that had the police not lied to cover up their mistake they would have gained more respect from the public over what had happened.They just made people think that they were out to get someone and sod the consequences
