Champions league round upManchester United came out on top in their Battle of Britain clash with Celtic, while Arsenal also maintained their charge towards the knockout stages in a free-scoring night of UEFA Champions League action.
United were grateful to a brace from Dimitar Berbatov and a second-half strike from in-form Wayne Rooney as they comfortably downed SPL side Celtic 3-0 to move to within touching distance of the last 16, while Gordon Strachan's men now face an uphill challenge if they are to reach the latter rounds.
Meanwhile, Arsenal issued a statement of their intent on the European stage as they were at their swashbuckling best to end Fenerbahce's 15-game unbeaten home record.
