Like grandfather, like grandson: Prince Harry is following in the footsteps of his gaffe-prone grandfather, Prince Philip, by putting his foot firmly in his mouth – again. Harry is under fire from political and religious groups for referring to an Asian army colleague as a ‘Paki’. Video footage of the remark, shot in 2006, was published online last week by the News of the World. The word is a derogatory term for an immigrant or descendant of an immigrant from Pakistan and the young royal’s remark has provoked widespread condemnation.

I think that yes even though it is a racist remark,Harry said it on a supposedly private video ,to a mate who didn't look or act upset by it.He has since appologised so why are the powers that be carrying this on!

I also agree with you that the mate he referred to did'nt look upset at all by it and i think most importantly, how the hell do these guys talk to (and about) one another most of the time? methinks, this is rather mild. They are the armed forces for goodness sake, i bet they could turn the air blue at the best of times.

Leave the lads and lassies alone(forces)i say, they do a difficult enough job and should be allowed to let of steam.

It's a load of rubbish, someone making money out of him, and I think really sad that this is being blown all out of proportion.

Hes grown into a lovely young man and is mother would be very proud of him, he seems to have her natural way with people too.

i am sorry but i have to disagree with you ladies here.... harry was born into the royal family and as such he has a duty to be diplomatic... he's really stupid to make such comments on a video... how could he be so naive to think that in this day and age it would not have gotten out... i would have thought that he would have been raised not to make such comments and i for one find it very dissapointing... i can tell you nobody in my family would ever talk like that and were not royal!

i am sorry but the commonwealth does not only include the uk but a lot of countries.. and also includes a lot of people of colour who i think may be offended at that paki remark (and frankly i don't blame them)... anyway, this is not the first time he's done something like that (wearing that nazi costume to a party?!?) come on, get real, grow up and grab a brain

So it's ok for people to call us Brits, Jocks, Taffs, Honkies, Poms, Polaks, Canucks but we mustn't call them Pakis in case their delicate little egos are offended.

This isn't the problem in the world today. The problem is with people who lie down before these Pakistanis...or whatever and allow them to develop their already inflated sense of importance.

What's more offensive,, Tajikis (tan), Hindus (tan), Waziris (tan), Pakis (tan)? You tell me.

that wasn't my point... i think that offensive language should not be used by people who are in a position to influence others.. and in my opinion he is, or should be, a diplomat... the other children of the royal family are all able to conduct themselves properly, why shouldn't he?
