Then you aint one week in then, are you?

Come on, not being harsh, just being real.  You can't stop, then keep torturing yourself by having to start over again.

ONE cigarette = back to day one.  You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.  If it's been a week a month a year, ONE cigarette = day one again.

Either stop, properly, or just smoke, far less torturous that way.

I see your point Tony, but when does one become a non-smoker? I am one week in as usually i would smoke anywhere between 10 to 20 a day - and like I said, Sunday was a wobble and I had a large car journey and in a fit of weakness thought sod it lol  Today, I am trying to do it without a patch and so far (4.00 p.m.) am doing ok - but have one to hand should I cave.  I reckon I have already saved about £25.
gaz

cheers bravo

Once you've started mate, you never become a 'non-smoker'.  Your brain has a nicotine processing factory, and one cigarette puts it back into full production, even if it's years later.  ONE cigarette makes it as though you never stopped.

I know someone who stopped for six years, had one when he was getting divorced, and 15 years later he is still smoking.

Not one single cigarette more can pass your lips if you are really serious about stopping.  I know that's hard to contemplate at first, the good news is it does get easier as time goes on.

And time does go on, one year from now will happen, where do you want to be when it does?

Well done Gaz!.... Good to hear you're feeling the benefits of being a non smoker too, my dad has really suffered because of smoking, he suffers pain now everyday because the only way to the pain away is to amputate his leg which he doesn't want... he's already had a triple bypass, they used an artery in his arm for that, the artery they hoped to use to save his leg is also buggered and they can't use it, so he now suffers with very little circulation and can't really get about now... all thanks to his saying for years how much he enjoyed smoking....

My sis and myself have never smoked, but if I did, seeing what I have seen my dad go through over the years it would be enough to put me off...

Chimp - Lots of luck quitting hun, it's hard overcoming any addiction, but if you want it badly enough... you'll do it!!
