Priced out of education!Many universities in England and Wales want to raise tuition fees from their current capped level of £3,500 to as much as £20,000 per year to help cover costs – a move that could prompt students, particularly those from low-income backgrounds, to abandon higher education in droves, according to new research.
This is ridiculous........how on earth would some parents be able to pay such fees?Higher education is going to be for the blooming rich and the ordinary working class kids will have to suffer

Higher Education in this country is a farce anyway nowadays - its all about ticking boxes and meeting Government targets. So many people coming out of University with useless degrees who don't even have a basic grasp of the English Language. I am in a position where I can't apply for jobs as I don't have a degree, but someone with only a small fraction of my work experience who has a total unrelated degree, i.e. Marine Biology can.
Those of us who were pre GCSE are at a serious disadvantage in the job market.
