Seve Ballesteros "Gravely ill"Doctors treating Seve Ballesteros say tests have revealed he is suffering from a "grave illness".
The 51-year-old Spaniard was taken to La Paz hospital in Madrid on Monday after briefly losing consciousness at the city's Barajas Airport, and has since been undergoing tests.
Telegraph.co.uk report that a brain scan has revealed a "grave illness" and, such is the seriousness of his condition, that Ballesteros' family have been summoned to the hospital.
A full medical bulletin is expected to be issued by the hospital on Saturday.
On Thursday, an upbeat Ballesteros had thanked fans for their messages of support.

Seve Ballesteros underwent further surgery today (Thursday) after his condition deteriorated following Tuesday's seven-hour operation to remove a brain tumour.
The Spanish golf legend was recovering from the first operation when doctors took the decision to operate again.
The procedure was needed to reduce pressure on Ballesteros' brain.
A statement from the LA Paz hospital in Madrid read: "The patient is stable and remains under observation in the intensive care unit having undergone a decompressive craniectomy after suffering from a decrease in the level of consciousness due to a cerebral edema."
Ballesteros was taken to the hospital on October 6 after he collapsed and briefly lost consciousness at Madrid airport.
The 51-year-old announced on Sunday that he had been diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Ballesteros won the British Open in 1979, 1984 and 1988 and became the first European to win the US Masters in 1980, a title he claimed again in 1983.

Doctors at Madrid's La Paz hospital have successfully completed a third brain operation on Seve Ballesteros to reduce swelling from a serious brain tumour.
The operation on the 51-year-old, led by La Paz's chief brain surgeon Javier Heredero, lasted six-and-a-half hours.
A statement issued by the La Paz hospital read: "The patient Mr Severiano Ballesteros has been subjected to a new surgery that ended at 1700 today with no complications occurring.
"In the operation, the aims originally planned have been achieved and the edema and the remnants of the tumour eliminated.
"The patient entered the operating room of the neurosurgery service at 0830 for the preparation and process anaesthetic and the intervention began at 1030. It has involved three neurosurgeons, two anaesthesiologists and three nurses.
"The patient is stable... and is currently under observation in the intensive care unit."
The five-time major champion is suffering from an oligoastrocytoma, a tumour that affects two types of brain cells, and spreads diffusely inside the brain cavity.
