I imagine you all read the papers today concerning the kidnap of young Shannon Matthews, i was appalled to read of the plan her own mother and her then partners uncle schemed between them and all for the reward. Does this woman have no love or respect for her daughter? what kind of mother is she at all? They should both be taken out to a public square and birched for what they did to Shannon. The little girl must have been terrified out of her mind. These people have made it harder for any family in the future who has a child disappear, as the focus will be on the parents(as it always is in the early stages anyway)for much much longer, allowing a pervert MORE time with his victim. I hope these 2 specimens get a long prison sentence to be served alongside other prisoners, i'm sure they'll sort them both out.

This thing that calls herself a mother is the lowest of the low.Everyone's hearts went out to her when Shannon was reported missing and prayed that she was safe,when all the time this cow knew where she was and was trying to get money from the Madeline fund and other sources

I understand that shes in Newhall prison ATM,i hope the other inmates don't allow her to sleep so she has more time to reflect on her actions

It's on BBC just now, 8 o'clock-9 o'clock. They are a right pair and i hope they get theirs when they go to prison.

Perhaps some of you will disagree with me when I say that these people are devoid of all social and moral responsibility. They exist and breed solely to obtain money from the State. They don't work nor do they contribute anything to society. Their whole life is dedicated to the furtherance of themselves and their putrid little lives. Their children are turned into feral humans having no respect for anything or anyone. As such the whole disgusting lot of them should be taken away, shot, and used as manure.

ANd what about the cost of the massive search operation - TAXPAYERS MONEY - that the hard working majority of us have to pay for - they should be made to do public duties for the rest of their lives to repay what would be a fraction of the cost - picking litter and dog shit up would be a good start

The role of social services in the life of Shannon Matthews is being closely scrutinised following her mother's conviction for kidnapping her own daughter.

Mother-of-seven Karen Matthews, 33, was condemned by police on Thursday as "pure evil" after a judge told her she faces a substantial jail sentence.

Later allegations emerged that Matthews' children had been placed on the child protection register but later taken off despite concerns about violence in the household and poor living conditions.
