SonicI have just got Sonic off ebay for my Nintendo DS and as its many years since i played it on the mega drive or what ever it was on.....i have forgotten how many times you have to boink the spaceship to get passed that level.Also do you have to boink it on the head or bottom   Thanks

ooh Anne isn't that a gameboy advance game on the bigger grey cartridge.
If so he says you need to hit it 8 times, should be bottom, unless its a stage where the spaceship comes down and picks bits of the floor out in which you would have to wait until the floor is grabbed and then hit him at the top.
Another one is if you are at a stage where there are see saw things at the bottom and he shoots down exploding spike balls in which you need to jump at the opposite end of the see saw at the right time so that it hits him not you.
If its an underwater level you dont need to hit him at all just escape
