The European Commission Strikes AgainHere we go again! Once more the European Commission are about to get another of their bloody "Directives" past that crowd of incompetent gravy boat guzzling MEP's in Brussels. We had the straight cucumber fiasco some little time ago and now we have the possibility of not being able to buy what they class as "ugly" fruit and vegetables. Anyone who has done any gardening knows that carrots, for example, often produce forked produce. Similar things happen with potatoes which look like faces or backsides etc. Not that these peculiarities make inedible veggies or reduce the vitamin content of the product - oh no - they just look ugly and may take a modicum of extra preparation to get them into the cooking pot. As Woodfold said,whatever the shape of the fruit or vegetable,it doesn't make it inedible or less good for you
