Thoughts please!!!!A paedophile is claiming £5,000 compensation because his prison cell does not have a toilet, washing facilities and drinking water.
W, 43, says his human rights are breached by "a substandard lifestyle" at Exeter Prison in Devon.
W, who has lived in Devon and Durham, was jailed in June 2007 for the rape of a teenage boy.
The Ministry of Justice rejected the claim which is being dealt with the prison's solicitors.
W, who has convictions for offences against children dating back to the 1980s, was given an indeterminate sentence in June 2007, for public protection.
In the claim to the High Court in London, W is seeking damages under Article 3 of the Human Rights Act 1998, which describes the inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment of a person.
He claims his rights are being breached because he was denied proper sanitation facilities, washing facilities and the supply of hot water and drinking water in his cell on the prison's D-wing.
The writ claims W. has been subjected to degrading and humiliating treatment by the prison service.
His claim is for £2,500 per year for the period between 8 November 2006, and 29 April 2008.

He's behind bars because he committed a crime.
As long as he is being given basic sanitary facilities,he doesn't deserve more!

it makes my blood boil , he feels his human rights have been breached , well maybe he should of thouight about the fact he was taking an innocent childs rights away when he bloody abused him

Registered sex offender list.
We have a system now where I can go on the Internet and find out the names and addresses of any sex offender in our county. They even have their photos. I can do it for the entire state of Missouri, if I want to. I check our local one once in awhile just to keep advised.
Do you have a system like this in your country?

we don't have it in canada (at least i'm not aware of it), but it sounds like a damn good idea.

We don't have it here either,but the mother of Sara Payne,a little girl murdered some years back by a paedo has campaigned relentlessly to get the law changed.
