Young Child Murdered in Huddersfield by Mother & PartnerThis case is, without doubt, the worst case of child abuse that I have read in some time. The baby, 2 years and 4 months old, was battered, put in a dark cupboard and was finally left alone to die. The mother, if you can call the woman that, and her partner are both 21 and Asian. The child was alleged to have been beaten with metal rods, had multiple fractures of her limbs and had even had aftershave applied to her inflamed nappy rash. The couple tried to tell the police, who were called when the paramedics finally attended the house, that the child had drowned in her bath. This link gives some of the details but, if you are of a very sensitive disposition, be prepared to be horrified.

The couple have both tried to blame the other and have had the audacity to plead not guilty. What is it with Asian people and their dislike of female children? This type of murder isn't the first that I have heard of or seen details in the media. I know that females don't have much input into their parents care after they get married since they move over to the husbands family. I also know that boys are the preferred child since they bring in other females, as wives, who then have the responsibility to help in the care of the husbands elderly relatives. This particular case has, however, really upset me with the babarity of the childs treatment. My only hope is that the pair of them get sent down for a long time and that the other prisoners in the jails they go to manage to get to them.

I have seen bits of this on the local news and yes it is truely appalling. But other family members were visiting the home at the time of the abuse so why haven't they picked up that there was something badly wrong here? The child's auntie picked the baby up the day she died and the little girl was crying out in pain(because of her broken legs)why didn't she realise there was something wrong, because the little one must have been in agony.

Like I said in my first post Eva, there is something in the Asian way of looking at female children which puts them below the status of the male children. This is also seen in the way some Asians treat their wives and other women folk. When my eldest daughter was in Northern General Hospital having our second grandchild there was an Asian woman in an adjacent cubicle/section whose female baby died in suspicious circumstances. I remember the police were called but I don't know what happened afterwards. The family had visited the new mother just before the baby was found to have suffocated. My daughter told me that there were raised voices before the family left, obviously not speaking English. Often it seems that the killing of a family member is a family decision. You get similar killings in "honour" killings where the male members of the family will kill a sister, or daughter, if they think she has dishonoured the family. Similar things happen if an Asian woman either lives or marries a non-Asian, aka non Muslim, man.

Under certain eastern cultures females are very lowly regarded. A disgrace to cultures such as ours.
