well for the second time since christmas someone has tried to copy my bank card and get money from my account, last time they didnt have the pin number so no money was stolen, but this time they took almost $2,000 (which put me in overdraft mode big time)... i got a call from my bank last night saying "did you use your card at 7-11 the other night, i was like no, i never go to 7-11, they said well somebody used your card about 10 times yesterday... i went to my online bank site and saw that sure enough there was multiple withdrawals of $200 until it got to my overdraft limit.. there was also a charge for a cinema, so the little fucker went to see a movie in the midst of that spree! i am so mad and freaked out! i want to know how this keeps happening! i am careful when i use the card that nobody sees my pin number, it's scary to think somebody may have been lurking and watching... the bank says that it will open an investigation and find out how the card was duplicated, i sure would like to know! grrrrrrr
God thats awful Chrissy
You hear of it happening, but i must say i concider myself lucky for it not to have happened to me or mine.
Sounds like they've had one of those gadgets that reads your card and your pin when you enter the details, the bastids
I hope you get it sorted hun and can somehow get your money back.I just don't know how we are supposed to detect these things, because the thieves are so bloody clever

thanks alan! the problem was not acutally online banking, it was somebody with a machine of some sort that can copy your card and pin number. i actually ended up calling the police, who basically told me that they can't do anything unless the bank contacts them, and then only if the bank has a suspect... so somebody basically got away with $2000 and god knows how many other times they've done it.... so, the lesson today is CRIME PAYS!!!

Don't be sorry for how you feel Alan!
It just goes to show that you are a decent person with morals.
These type of people who do such things are the scum of the Earth and unfortunately thee are too many of them about.
I doubt if they will get caught, but i really do hope that they get whats coming to them

That's an absolute disgrace. It's worse these days because even though you know they are incompetent, you absolutely have to use a bank if you wish to be a normal member of society these days. You can't even get a job or even benefits if you don't have an account, it's a scandal.
