I got home on Thursday to a Thomas Cook credit card statement which had a £20 balance which i didn't know about(It was for card protection). The payment was supposed to be paid before the 19th while i was still away,so obviously i couldnt pay it.I rang them today to explain that the statement had arrived after i had left the country and therefore i wasnt going to pay the £12 late payment charge!
I got this jumped up little shit that said that it was my responsability to ring up before i left to ensure that i didn't owe anything.I explained that my balance on the last statement was £0 and i had no way of knowing this bill would come and need paying while i was away, but he said if i didnt pay it i would incur more charges.
He wouldn't put me on to anyone higher or put me onto another operator,so i had to ring again and try someone else
I got a different bloke and he sorted it in minutes, accepting that it wasn't my fault and said he would refund the £12 charges

It's always worth re-ringing with these call centres.  Half of them haven't got the foggiest what they are doing, and like in your case you get the pillocks that think it's their own money they're giving you back (when in this case it was rightly yours).
